Instant Pot Wild Rice

I had some wild rice left over from another recipe so I decided to make it this week. Wild rice is really good for you because it is higher in fiber and protein, and lower in calories than brown rice.

See the recipe for brown rice HERE.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Cup Wild Rice
  • 1.25 Cups Water
  • Cooking Spray
  • Salt
  • 1 TBSP Butter

Start by spraying the bottom of the instant pot with cooking spray. This will make it easier to clean when you are done.

Next, put the rice, water, butter, and salt into the instant pot. You can use the same amount of time if you are using more rice. Just use the same 1:1.25, rice:water ratio.

Close the lid and press the “pressure cook” button and set the time for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes is up, let the pressure natural release for 10 minutes. Hit the quick release then remove the lid once the pressure is fully released. Fluff the rice with a fork and enjoy!

I find that 1/3 cup cooked rice makes the perfect serving size.
